The “POMPEII” exhibition. The infinite life” is designed to offer a new key interpretation of the history and daily life of Pompei, thanks to a scientific collaboration with MANN-Museo Archeologico Nazionale, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The exhibition seeks to increase the relationship between Italy and China through an Oriental and Western dialogue which sees in the ancient roman villa as an important correspondence with the traditional Chinese home.

The main objective is that of contextualising, in the countryside and architecture of the city, the exhibition of works to facilitate knowledge of the daily and cultural life of Pompei. The staging, which is immersive, involves the visitor in the very atmosphere of the Mediterranean and imparts the main characteristics of Roman art at Pompei.

The show is set out in themed sections, which are interlinked in a strong continuity of narration around the relationship between nature, architecture and daily life.

Mediterranean Pompeii – - The first section analyses the character itself of the cultural landscape of the Mediterranean of which Pompeii is an extraordinary expression.

City Landscape – In this section we meet the relationship of the site with the countryside of the volcano and the coast, offering an interpretation of the urban form of the city. A focal element is the re-statement, in a visual format, of the historic model of the excavations of Pompei, currently exhibited at the MANN. The great model was digitally acquired and relates to the virtual reconstruction of the ancient city.

Atrium – The third section envisages the reconstruction of the atrium of the home as a focus, which allows for recreating the most important place in the daily life of Pompeii.

Pompeii, The Rediscovery – a time line has been traced out on the wall, which offers a representation of the chronology of events; from the date of the eruption to the archaeological re-discovery, the dig area and the methods of conservation, from recent discoveries to the re-birth of Pompeii.

Tales of Pompeii – The last hall contains a cast from Pompeii with an account of famous persons of the city and of stories connected with the eruption.
